Keeping it Real,  Overcoming Fear

Keeping it Real Part 3

Hey!

It’s been a while, but taking a break is okay.

I’m a mum, and I have other responsibilities. I had every intention of coming back sooner, but life happens. Taking time out has allowed me to reflect on where I was going with this blog…and I know I must be open and honest and work on building my confidence.

Being Vulnerable

I desire to help mums and women, but how can I do that if I keep things to myself? Being vulnerable does not work well with me. I prefer to keep my feelings under wraps. However, doing this comes at a cost: missed opportunities and being misunderstood.

Being vulnerable doesn’t mean sharing everything with the world. I am a place where I am more confident about putting certain things out there, so there you go. I am 45. I would never tell anyone my age because of my lack of achievements, and I cared too much about what people thought.

But you must have faith in yourself and not worry about what others say. My friend often says – you need to have thick skin if you want to make it in life. People will judge you no matter what!

Confidence: Fear of not being good enough

When it came to this blog, I felt I had imposter syndrome. I thought that I wasn’t good enough or lacked experience to talk about the subject matter.

However, I have heard, on so many occasions, that some people have less knowledge and skill than you do. Help them. And that is what I am going to do. If what I write or speak about helps one person, then I am helping someone. That someone can use the information that I have shared to help someone else, and then it will be a domino effect.

I have loads to speak/write about when it comes to confidence. This has been an area that I have been battling with for decades, but that is for another post.

On a lighter note!

What are the downsides of taking a break? You have to relearn everything you have forgotten and trust me—I forgot loads! Consistency is the key to progressing in life, retaining information, and learning new skills.

I had to tell myself – I could do it so many times to get back on track because I know I easily get overwhelmed by all the work running a brand entails. However, I have more knowledge and intend to do things differently this time.

So, there you have it… I’m back!
